About Dr. Fred E. Clayson Dr. Clayson, a recipient of the Rotary Club Humanitarian Award, has been performing refractive surgery since 1984. After graduation Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University, Dr. Clayson attended the University of Utah Medical School. He then completed his rotating medical internship at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City before completing two fellowships with the American Association of Medical Colleges at the University Medical Center in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and at Phebe Hospital in Monrova, Liberia. Dr. Clayson completed his ophthalmology residency at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Clayson has been in practice since 1977 in Ogden, Utah. He is an American Board Certified Ophthalmologist and his professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgery, American College of Eye Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the Utah Ophthalmologic Society. In his free time Dr. Clayson sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for nine years. He has traveled to a number of foreign countries providing charitable medical care, including Romania where he worked in orphanages correcting vision problems. He is an avid skier and scuba diver. Dr. Clayson resides in Ogden with his wife Marti, and children, Scott, Brad, and Karen.
Dr. Clark Fielden Dr. Clark Fielden is a graduate of the University of Utah, with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a Chemistry minor. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. During his doctorate education he completed internships at Travis Air Force Base at David Grant Medical Center, Oakland California VA Clinic, and San Fransisco VA Hospital. He has recently moved from Virginia where he served as a Lieutenant, practicing optometry, in the United States Navy. His professional interests include myopia research, and glaucoma. He practices all aspects of optometry including comprehensive eye and vision care, contact lenses including difficult RGP fits, and surgical co-management of cataracts and LASIK. Dr. Fielden is experienced in the treatment and management of ocular disease such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Outside of optometry he enjoys fishing, hiking, and spending time with his family.
